These beds are all adaptations of a Thomas Day design and constructed using 18th century hand tools, giving the surfaces a unique hand-worked character. While smooth to the touch, the planed pieces have a gentle roll caused by the grooves of the hand plane. In contrast to the perfectly flat, lifeless surfaces created using current technology, the hand tooled surfaces are vibrant and unique.
